You were given fair warning. The degüello was played by the Mariachi bands in preparation for the invasion of the AquaForce, all the signs were there....did you miss them??? Well it is too late, you can run but you can't hide!
I would like to introduce you to Miss Scarlett Alyssa Brennan-Meads (Aquababy). She is the young lady to the left who is showing you her wrath! She just weighs in at about 6 pounds...but she will steal your heart...er....umm....will make you beg for mercy while she wields complete destruction of the enemy without mercy. You guys bought those fallout shelters didn't you? Tsk tsk...the streets will flow with the blood of the non-believers!
She arrived on our planet 14th December at 7:41PM. I happened to be in Hokitika with my dad during the most incredible journey around New Zealand. I got home to see her the next day and I cryed like a baby. I am head over heels in love with this girl. All is well in my little world right now.
Act II: The Incredible Journey. My dad and his friend Len arrived in Wellington on the 5 of December. I had taken two weeks leave from work. I booked a bach in Ohiwa Beach on the Bay of Plenty for a weekend. We rented a car and drove up through the Desert Road, via Lake Taupo, Rotorua and Whakatane. I introduced them to the local wild life at a crazy little local pub in Opotiki. We spent a couple of days wandering around the area, shopping, seeing the sights, my friend Panda was playing in the Coromandel and took the night off and came down and stayed a night with us. We then drove through the Waioeka Gorge back into Gisborne and I caught up to my mate Kiri. She is living in this really kick-ass house that sits on the edge of a cliff, overlooking the Poverty Bay flats. Very nice. After a quick catch up and a cuppa we then drove back to Wellington though the Hawkes Bay to the Manawatu Gorge, past the wind farms, via Palmerston North. After a short breather, we then flew into Christchurch, rented a car and then drove onto Queenstown where we spent a couple of days taking in the "flora and fauna". Then through Wanaka into Haast and then up the west coast past the glaciers to Hokitika where we spent the night. I was in a cafe called Stumper's having dinner and drinks with my dad's mate, Len when my daughter was born. I got a text after we ordered. I made the announcement amongst a sea of cheers from the patrons of the tavern. The next morning, after some shopping for baby stuff, we drove through Kumara Junction, over Arthur's Pass into Christchurch where we caught a flight back to Wellington and I made a mad dash to the hospital on Friday to see my baby girl.
Dad and Len flew out yesterday evening after a 12-day whirlwind tour of Aotearoa. It was really nice having them here and it was a good time all around. In spite of the 3,000 kilometers of driving that I did...they were not ready to brave it behind the wheel in New Zealand...they just kept muttering something about these damn round-a-bouts! The South Island of New Zealand is really paradise. It is without a doubt the most beautiful scenery I have ever seen. WOW was the word of the day during the whole time we were there. I highly recommend to anyone to spend some time down there.
This has turned out to be a very Merry Christmas....well with the exception that I am on call for Christmas and New Year's....man they stick it to the foreigners don't they!!!
Wishing you all a very Happy Holidays and a Happy Gnu Year!
The Reverend Aquaman and Aquababy
