Dad is also going to be in the neighborhood in just a little over a week. I have never spent so much time and effort to get my house sorted. So again, if you are wandering aimlessly in the South Pacific, I have enough room to sleep a small band. That means you Mike Doughty, if you are reading this. I was starting to feel a bit lost in this big house all by myself, but I really am enjoying the space. As much as it makes me sound like a poofta, I really have enjoyed fixing the rooms up. All of this baby stuff is making the Aquadaddy kinda domesticated?!?!? I would have never thought it, but fatherhood is soon upon me. I have gotten to "play" dad in a couple of occasions and also have dated numerous women with kids....but I have a feeling this is going to be a lot different. I feel a lot like I did when that airplane was backing out of the terminal in Houston about 6 years ago, after I sold everything I owned, packed my bags and moved to New Zealand. Excitement, fear, curiousity, wonder, etc...this is the beginning of a whole new adventure for me and a whole new life experience to enjoy.
BUT A-N-Y-W-A-Y....I digress. We got to go out and check out an MASSIVE band last night at Sandwiches in Wellington. The Cornerstone Roots. I have seen them a couple of times when I was living up in Gisborne with the Ollynator. They did not disappoint...even though I paid double to see them difference to what I paid in Gissy, bro. Naomi was giving that bass a workover and the band was tight-as. If you like Fat Freddy's Drop, I reckon these guys will suit your taste for a bit of a reggae-dub grooves in your dreads, ow. Awww yeah. It was good to catch up with the percussionist, Adam...it had been a year or so since I had seen him last. It was a great night with some friends from the University....and God Bless Jack Daniels...a true and respected friend. OK....I am rambling....mucho mota.
I will keep you abreast (no pun intended) of the baby's status here at Aquababy Central. Taking bets on the baby's sex....we still don't know ourselves and it is going to be an interesting Christmas to say the least.
Until next time...
The Reverend.
